Visit to Haarlem

Haarlem, Bakenes

New cultural and nature tour: on foot, bike or combination of transportation: Explore a combination of culture and nature together in a single guided tour!

We propose a guided visit to explore one of the oldest towns of the Netherlands, Haarlem, in combination with a guided GREEN adventure in the beautiful surrounding nature.  See some of the best of the Dutch historical architecture and cultural highlights before visiting the peace and tranquility in the surrounding dunes, polders and tulip fields.

Cultural tour Haarlem

The peaceful town of Haarlem is a hidden jewel only half an hour away from the bustling city of Amsterdam. This is a perfect place to visit for a daytrip or overnight excursion.

Haarlem is the town of Frans Hals, first impressionist of the seventeenth century and many other painters of this Golden Age.

You will be struck by the beautiful marketplace with the famous Cathedral St. Bavo, famed for hosting Mozart while he played the organ.

Other important aspects in HAARLEM are the historical center, with its hidden courtyards and neighbourhoods, old and new architecture like the famous Railway Station with Jugendstyle ornaments, breweries, Frans Hals Museum, Teyler Museum, Corry Ten Boom museum (in memory of the second World War II ) and art galleries.

Nature tour in and around Haarlem

A combination of dunes landscape, forest and scrublands will show you a variety of impressive views under the famous Dutch skies just outside the city of HAARLEM. This impressive sky is also visible on the paintings from our Dutch MASTERS which you can admire in one of our famous museums like the Frans Hals Museum.

In all different seasons, the nature in this particular area is changing and amazingly beautiful in colours, energy and weather. Here you will discover the wonderful dynamic between sea, wind and sand which have continuously shaped the Netherlands’ North Sea coastline.

With an experienced nature guide you will explore and learn about this culturally and historically important area, wildlife and the natural process of water purification. A visit of an authentic pumping station of 1853 can be included in the visit.

We advise to do this whole tour in about 4-5 hours or longer if time permits.

It’s also possible to choose one item of this NEW TOUR.

Hope to see you soon,

Kind regards,
